The best universities for computing and information systems
The Good University Guide ratings look at particular strengths of Australian universities, offering insight to support and guide decision-making for those choosing a university. You can view the rankings in terms of how each university performs overall, or you can narrow down by field of study and state.
There are 386 undergraduate computing and information systems degrees listed on The Good Universities Guide. We looked at which ones performed best in learner engagement, teaching quality and full-time employment.
This rating looks at the proportion of undergraduate students who felt they were engaged with learning at their institution — the extent to which students felt prepared for study, had a sense of belonging at their institution, participated in discussions and interaction with other students, interacted with students. Federation University ranked first with 75.9%, with Australian Catholic University (ACU) placing second with 69.9%.
Teaching quality refers many factors, such as the quality of teaching students received; the extent to which they felt lecturers and tutors actively engaged them learning; and how helpful and approachable teachers appeared and whether useful feedback was provided. University of New England (UNE) placed highest with 87.8%, followed by Federation University with 82.9%.
This rating compares the employment rates of graduates of undergraduate degrees from different universities. It looks at the proportion of graduates who were employed full time four months after completing their course. The top spot goes to Australian National University (ANU) with 87.7%, and second goes to University of Wollongong with 84.8%.
